Internet of Things (IoT) technology in the retail industry enables retailers and their suppliers or service providers with unprecedented opportunities to collect, analyze and act on large data sets from physical assets and applications employed in the selling of products and services. Retail environments include many familiar edge of network devices such as point of sale (POS) devices, credit card terminals and kiosks but also relatively new platforms such as digital signage/digital out of home (DOOH) networks.
